Hundreds of years before Concord broke ground for Concord Canada House in Toronto, shipping docks and railway routes ran along the shoreline. During project excavations, sections of the original Queen’s wharf and a 19th Century Schooner, made almost entirely from white oak, were discovered onsite. Concord arranged for the schooner to be transported to Fort York for restoration. In commemoration of Canadian history and this unique discovery, we were commissioned to design a contemporary schooner installation for the idyllic pond that fronts Concord Canada House.
