The Surrey Presentation Centre provides visitors with their initial glimpse into an expansive residential project in the fast-growing Metro Vancouver suburb of Surrey. LIV was tasked with the redesign of an existing compact corner display suite into a brand new captivating space that showcases a kitchen, living room and bathroom. The design needed to amplify the appearance of a compact corner and convey a sense of luxury and space to attract visitors. To maximize the use of the space and to realize the client’s vision, LIV completed a full renovation – no aspects of the original space were retained and all original interior partitions and walls were torn down.

Through the use of luxurious finishes, recessed lighting, rich blues and burnt umbres and clever design elements, LIV Design Studio created an elegant ambience and captivating presentation centre. Steel-blue walls are interspersed with design elements that echo the arched entranceways; warm upholstered, 3-dimensional panels alternate with decorative, oblong marble panels. Brushed brass trim lines the panels and archways. The ceiling was dropped and illuminated cove lighting was installed, adding additional warmth and cohesion to the experience. Once through the corridor, an L-shaped kitchen with island greets the visitor. Inspired by gentlemen’s clubs from an earlier era, custom millwork forms the backdrop of the kitchen adding subdued sophistication.

Next to the kitchen, a casual seating area is anchored by another arched wall featuring large format marble tiles and elegant brushed metal accents. Custom linear mirrors with curved ends on either side heighten the appearance of the wall and the entire space. Plush velvet seating, in contrasting hues of blue and orange, complement the walls and brass trim repeated throughout the suite.
