        IDS Toronto – 2019 Redux

Our design team spent a few, cold January days in ‘The Six’ attending IDS Toronto – Canada’s largest design exposition and conference. It wasn’t only the sub-zero temps that invigorated our crew but the many incredible, thought-provoking speakers and exhibitors in attendance.  We were excited to hear internationally acclaimed, Shanghai-based, Neri & Hu present. They are the brilliant, multi-disciplinary design team behind some of the best industrial design products created for favourite brands like Artemide, Moooi, BC Barcelona, Poltrona and LCDA Concrete to name a few.

Interior Designer, Ryan Korban was another illustrious guest speaker. He is the New York wunderkind behind the Balenciaga Flagship stores in New York and Madrid, Aquazzura’s divine shoe store/temple as well as countless homes for the film, music and design world’s glitterati.

And, recognizing the value of multi-disciplinary pursuits and the intersectionality of design specifically, IDS Toronto also welcomed the one and only, Questlove as a speaker. The world renowned Grammy Award–winning musician and New York Times bestselling author, recently announced a partnership with Sandow Media to bring new and inspired brands and products to the market through his company – CREATIVE HOUSE. This new undertaking will unite artists, designers, inventors, and innovators to inspire, collaborate, and ideate. We are excited to see what CREATIVE HOUSE will deliver.

IDS Toronto’s list of presenters was extensive. This is a small example but, as usual, the event left us inspired and excited about the future of design in Canada.
